Three friends – Russell, Bassam and Khalid – were frustrated by the lack of decent halal meat options in New York City. They wanted to create a transparent and radically simple meat store accessible to all New Yorkers.
From our farms to our butchers to your kitchen, we promise to be honest all along the way. How was the animal raised? When was the animal slaughtered? What’s the best way to cook a flat iron steak?
That’s what Yelp tells us. Or even the food critics at New York Magazine. There’s also the kind words of GOOD Magazine. Did we mention the TED talk? The proof is in the meat, the delicious, ethically-sourced meat.
We promise that all animals that enter Honest Chops are ethically-raised: no steroids, growth hormones, arsenics, or antibiotics – ever.
We promise that our meat is hand-slaughtered following Islamic guidelines.
We promise to pay our workers (butchers, drivers, managers) dignified wages.
We promise to give you annual updates on our suppliers and local supply chains.
We promise to always try our hardest to provide meat and cooking supplies from local farmers and artisans.
Most importantly, we promise to always be honest and transparent to our stakeholders – you.
